If you are getting the above statements when you try to login to the plesk panel, here goes the resolution for it.

The issue is due to no free sapce in the hard disk for the plesk to start. In order to fix the issue, you can perform the following steps:

# Execute the following command in the konsole.

df -h
This command shows the current disk usage and available free space in each of the partition. In this case the “/” partition will have no free space. That is usage will be 100 %. So you need to delete the unwanted files in the filled up partition.

Once you have done this you need to restart the plesk service in the server using the following command:

/etc/init.d/psa restart

This should fix the issue

New Intel chipset could awaken the PC as phone

15 08 2008

Intel’s remote wake-up chip could finally turn PCs into phones.

One of the biggest drawbacks of current PC-based Internet phone services like Skype, which allow people to make phone calls from their computers over the Internet for free or for reduced fees, is that you can’t receive calls when the computer is turned off. But that is changing with a new chipset introduced by Intel Thursday that allows computers to wake from “sleep” to accept calls and do other tasks like accept downloaded content.

Intel has teamed up with JaJah, a California-based voice over IP start-up, to allow JaJah users to receive calls on their PCs when their computers are in “sleep mode.”

“The Intel technology turns the PC into a PBX for the home,” said Trevor Healy, CEO of JaJah. “With the JaJah soft client you can plug in any USB-enabled phone and start receiving inbound calls anytime.”

Mozilla vs Safari vs Internet Explorer

17 07 2008

With Apple aggressively pushing Safari to Windows users who are running iTunes, and Mozilla and Opera releasing new versions of their popular browsers, it seems that the browser wars are hotting up once again.

Now Microsoft has dominated the browser market share for too many years, and the negative effects of this are obvious. Internet Explorer 7 is one of the worst browsers currently available. It’s slow, offers poor standards compliance, and it’s a serious memory hog , and nearly three-quarters of Web users have to suffer these problems daily.

But now Mozilla and Apple are shaking things up. On testing it was found that Firefox 3.0 is the fastest browser currently available in market as of now.

Apple has taken a more aggressive approach, pushing Safari aggressively – though the company has backed down somewhat from how it originally pushed Safari onto users via Apple’s Software Updater program.

Nokia’s profit slash down

17 07 2008

Nokia reported a 61 per cent drop in net income for the second quarter of fiscal year 2008, down from €2.8bn (£2.2bn) to €1.1bn compared with the same quarter in 2007.

Slow consumer spending on new handsets, declining prices and unfavourable US dollar exchange rates also contributed to the decrease. Also the entry of iPhone to the world market has remained a serious threat to the mobile giant Nokia

ProStreet puts you in the role of a racer named Ryan Cooper, who needs to accomplish a series of challenges and events before he can take part in so-called Showdown races. His ultimate goal is to challenge the “king,” Ryo, an expert in every racing discipline. In other words, there’s a long way to go, before you become an influential racer.

First of all, unless you own a high end PC, don’t waste money and time on it, you’ll be very disappointed. ProStreet only looks good on high settings, the low and medium ones are simply hideous, jagged lines and blurry surroundings is all you get. Let me just say this, the game needs a more powerful rig than Crysis…

The official site is:

http://www.ea.com/prostreet/

Some of the features new to ProStreet are:

  • No illegal street racing hence no Police. So no sergeant Cross

  • Better graphics. (If you still have a P3 or something with 256MB RAM and no Graphic card, then don’t complain)

  • Damage modelling. (It was there in NFS 4 and 5 , after which they discontinued it.)
  • As with all recent NFS’s, this time Kyrstal Forscutt (former Big Brother Australia contestant) and Sayoko Ohashi will cast the game.

The game, Quantum of Solace, is a groundbreaking effort in many ways. Treyarch, which is developing the game for the PS3 and 360 (the demonstration during the event was shown on the 360) has worked closely with the movie company to present a game that incorporates elements from both Casino Royale as well as the upcoming release, Quantum of Solace.

Add to the mix that the game is built using the powerful Call of Duty 4 engine, and you have some of the ingredients for what could be a solid outing for 007.

The game is a first-person shooter that blends in third-person action. The story of Quantum takes place one hour after the events in Casino Royale. As such, the game blends elements from both stories. There are levels that are remarkably drawn from Casino Royale, as well as levels that are from Quantum.

Louis Leterrier’s The Incredible Hulk is a more focused and action packed film adaptation of the Marvel comic book involving Dr. Bruce Banner (Edward Norton) and his gamma-eradiated, anger-induced Hulk than Ang Lee’s Hulk (2003) and is almost as good as recently released Iron Man. While in Brazil at the beginning of The Incredible Hulk, the film might have even been as good as Batman Begins and was for a few sequences but then it backed away from that greatness during its CGI-heavy climax, leaving realism and the human element behind.

The Incredible Hulk begins beautifully with an homage to the television show of the same name from the late ’70s that starred the late Bill Bixby and Lou Ferrigno (who makes a cameo in this film as he did in Hulk but this time he is given dialog). Something happens during this sequence that could have earned The Incredible Hulk an R rating but the images were cut just right by Kyle Cooper to avoid it. It would benefit the viewer if they saw Iron Man first because there are many nods and winks to companies, organizations, and characters from that film that will go unnoticed or seem insignificant otherwise.

While hiding out in Brazil, a mishap occurs at a soda bottling plant and General Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a former associate of Banner who is now hunting him, is alerted of Banner’s presence there. General Ross leaves to capture Banner with the aid of Emil Blonsky (Tim Roth), who is on loan from Great Britain’s Special Forces.

While in Brazil, Banner studies the martial art of aikido to control his anger and works at a factory where Martina (Debora Nascimento), a striking Brazilian day laborer, has a crush on him. The crush is never spoken of; it’s all in Martina’s eyes. Would a woman of Martina’s facial quality actually be a day laborer in a factory? I found it to be a remote and extremely questionable possibility but not outside the realm of plausibility. Banner doesn’t even notice Martina’s looks but that is understandable (for the sake of The Incredible Hulk’s eventual romantic sub-plot). Banner is in love with someone else by the name of Dr. Elizabeth “Betty” Ross (Liv Tyler)…………
